Donation CSA

2020 presented our young farm with a major hurdle - right as the season began in March we lost over 50% of our projected sales for the year (our plan was to grow primarily for restaurants). While we were figuring out how to pivot a friend of ours had an idea to support us and the community - she purchased a CSA share and told us to donate it. We loved the idea and decided to turn it into a full program.

We now invite you to kill two birds with one stone - help us out and help out our community. Reap & Sow Farm has partnered with our local community resource center, the Hinesburg Community Resource Center, to provide weekly vegetables to the Hinesburg Food Shelf. The Hinesburg Food Shelf helps to support families in need in our area. They supply fresh vegetables, canned and dry goods, personal care supples, home care supplies, and other kitchen supplies for our local community.

This program is one of our favorite things that we do. Each and every delivery was a highlight of the week. We do what we do because we want to feed people healthy, delicious food. The Donation CSA allows us to branch out farther into our community.

By purchasing a Donation CSA you help support our fledgling farm, but more importantly you help to support our community, which has been so supportive of local agriculture and of our farm. It has been a stated goal of Reap & Sow to work with and to help build the community around us and now we ask you to please help support us all!

We are offering four options for a donation CSA:

  • A full $400 share. Just like a normal CSA share, you pay $400, but we add extra value to it to make it worth $460. This value will then be spread out over the 18 weeks of donations running from late June until the end of October, which translates to about $26 of produce per week.

  • 3/4 share - a $300 investment for a return of $349.50 in value to the Hinesburg Food Shelf!

  • Half share - you pay $200 for a $230 value. This translates to $13 of produce donated per week.

  • 1/4 share Donation CSA - you pay $100 for $115 in value, which translates to $6 of produce donated per week.
